There’s nothing that can get you in the mood for summer quite like homemade ice cream, and in my house, these Cuisinart ice cream recipes are easily our favorites.

This list has something to suit everyone’s tastes, from good old-fashioned vanilla to rich, decadent butter pecan and fruity, delicious pineapple coconut.

So if you’re looking for your new favorite cool, summer treat, you’ve definitely come to the right place.

Best of all, most of them are so simple to make that even the kids can do it!

1. Vanilla Ice Cream

Whether vanilla is your favorite or you’re making it because it’s the one flavor your entire family can agree on, this recipe for vanilla ice cream is one of the best.

It’s sweet, rich, and so easy to make. All you’ll need is milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and heavy whipping cream to make it smooth and creamy.

Add just a pinch of salt for the contrast in flavor.

Once it’s done, you can enjoy it as-is, in cones, on top of a piece of warm apple pie, or as part of a decadent ice cream sundae.

2. Chocolate Ice Cream

For this yummy chocolate ice cream, you’ll need the same ingredients as you would for the vanilla.

You’ll also add half a cup of unsweetened cocoa powder.

Whisk everything together, then pour it into the ice cream maker. It should be ready in about half an hour.

As the recipe notes, if you prefer a more dark chocolatey taste, cut back on the milk by half a cup.

3. Strawberry Ice Cream

Want to make the best strawberry ice cream you’ve ever had with only four ingredients?

Grab your Cuisinart ice cream maker, 14 plump, ripe strawberries, some maple syrup, milk, and heavy cream.

Mix everything except the strawberries. Crush them separately, then add both the mixture and the berries to the ice cream maker.

After about 20 minutes, you’ll be enjoying a smooth, strawberry-flavored treat.

4. Cookies and Cream Ice Cream

Milk, sugar, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and a cup of chopped Oreos are all you’ll need to make this sweet, somewhat crunchy ice cream.

The cooking instructions are similar to the instructions for all the other ice cream flavors: Mix the ingredients, then churn in the ice cream maker.

If you like your ice cream with a bit of crunch, leave your Oreo pieces large and chunky.

If you prefer a smoother consistency, crush them into small, powdery pieces.

5. Peach Ice Cream

Peach ice cream is one of my personal favorites because it combines the sweetness of ice cream with the tartness of ripe peaches.

It’s such an excellent contrast.

You can use fresh or frozen peaches.

If you’re using fresh ones, be sure to peel them, remove the pits, and slice them into quarters.

Frozen peaches need to thaw for at least an hour.

As with the cookies and cream ice cream, you can vary the time your peaches spend in the food processor to match your desired ice cream texture.

If you like large pieces of fruit in the ice cream, only use the processor for a moment.

If you prefer smaller pieces of fruit and a smoother consistency, process the peaches until they’re closer to a puree.

6. Butter Pecan Ice Cream

If you like intensely sweet, buttery ice cream, this butter pecan recipe will probably be a fast favorite of yours.

It’s soft and smooth, but the chopped pecans add a delightful crunch.

The flavor of the butter comes through strongly, even through the sugar, cream, vanilla, and milk.

This ice cream is one of the most flavorful on the list, so if you like your ice cream bold and rich, you’ll love it.

7. Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream

This homemade mint chocolate chip ice cream may not turn as bright green as the mint chocolate chip ice cream you buy in the store, but it tastes just as good.

(Personally, I think it tastes better!)

To make it, you’ll need the following ingredients: heavy cream, milk, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, pure mint extract, salt, and bittersweet chocolate.

If you want to try to make it a bright green, you can also add a few drops of green food coloring.

I added the five drops recommended in the recipe, and I got more of a pale green than anything vibrant.

Still, there was nothing pale about the taste! It was amazing!

8. Coffee Ice Cream

Coffee ice cream is a great excuse to eat ice cream for breakfast; we all need that morning caffeine pick-me-up after all!

I’m joking, of course. Ice cream for breakfast isn’t the healthiest choice you can make, but this ice cream does contain a whole cup of strong brewed coffee, so it certainly has caffeine!

I love this ice cream. The coffee, together with the vanilla extract, creates an almost French vanilla/latte-like flavor.

It’s incredible, especially if you’re a coffee fanatic.

9. Pineapple Coconut Ice Cream

This ice cream has it all – the yummy sweetness of coconut milk, sugar, and vanilla, the fruitiness of pineapples, and the tangy zestiness of lime.

Together, the ingredients create a wonderful, tropical flavor that’ll make you think you’re drinking piña coladas on the beach.

If you’re a big fan of coconut, you can even add a few flakes of shredded coconut on top of the ice cream when you serve it.

That gives it a double dose of coconut goodness.

10. Blueberry Ice Cream

This five-ingredient ice cream contains only blueberries – fresh or frozen – sugar, lemon juice, whole milk, and heavy whipping cream.

It tastes fantastic, which for me is a given because I love blueberries.

It’s also a gorgeous purple color that looks like it should be on a flower rather than an ice cream cone.

This one takes a little longer to make because you have to cook your blueberries on the stove to make a syrup first.

Then, you’ll put them back on the stove to thicken again.

Even so, it’s worth every minute you spend making it.

Here's why: Churning ice cream base is a bit like making whipped cream.
